Job Description

Summary

This job involves handling administrative tasks at a military base, such as issuing vehicle stickers, registering bikes and weapons, and giving out temporary passes to visitors.

It's a clerical role focused on customer service for military personnel, employees, and vendors.

A good fit would be someone with office experience who is detail-oriented and comfortable following rules and helping people.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-04 level or equivalent, including processing vehicle, motorcycle, pet, bike, or weapon registrations and issuing temporary passes
  • For GS-05: Demonstrated clerical skills in a federal, public, or private sector setting related to registrations and passes
  • For GS-04 entry: One year of general office or clerical experience showing ability to learn job-specific skills
  • Strong attention to detail for reviewing applications, maintaining inventory of decals, and preparing reports
  • Customer service skills to provide advice on regulations to active duty, retired personnel, civilians, and vendors
  • Ability to process de-registrations, destroy records, and handle statistical data on registrations and violations
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to work in Jacksonville, Florida

GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing clerical work related to the processing of vehicle, motorcycle, pet, bike, or weapon registrations; AND providing temporary passes for visitors entering an installation.

GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

General experience must demonstrate the following: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will issue appropriate decals; provide advice and assistance to retired and active duty personnel, civilian and contract employees, vendors and others inquiring about regulations and requirements.
  • You will review. process and issue applications for requests for vehicle registrations, privately owned weapons registrations and bicycle registrations.
  • You will maintain account of vehicle registration decals issued on-hand.
  • Prepare statistical reports, charts, and graphs pertaining to vehicle registrations and traffic violation data.
  • You will process and de-register weapons and vehicles; destroy weapon registration cards.
