  • At least one year of supervisory experience (preferred)
  • At least one year of experience working with older adults (preferred)
  • CPR Certification within 6 months of hire

Job Description
The Program Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily operations of recreational and health and human services related programs and facility events within a community senior service program. The incumbent will be supervising staff, to include prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, follow policies and procedures; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.

Essential Duties
  • Developing, overseeing, and scheduling daily activities and facility events
  • Coordinating activities with internal and external departments to determine, develop, and implement programming needs, program objectives, and marketing programs
  • Assisting in developing department guidelines and procedures
  • Completing various forms and reports regarding program objectives, evaluation, and financial status
  • Ensuring compliance with state, federal and county policies and procedures
  • Completing human services assessments of new and current senior clients for program eligibility
  • Maintaining a healthy and safe working environment and ensuring the safety of program participants
  • Instructing courses when necessary, or other relevant duties as needed
Public Speaking Duties
  • Educating and providing information about classes, programs, services, and rental opportunities to the public at community events, resource and job fairs, and other forums as needed
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job requires fingerprinting
  • CPR Certification within 6 months
  • First Aid Certification within 6 months
Grade
The grade for this position is B32(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license
  • Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Health and Human Services, Senior Services, Gerontology, or a closely related field such as Social Work, Public Health, or Public Administration AND
  • Two years of experience working in Parks and Recreation, Health and Human Services, Senior Services, Gerontology, or a closely related field such as Social Work, Public Health, or Public Administration, OR
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • At least one year of experience working with older adults
  • At least one year of supervisory experience
