Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Plans and schedules assigned and anticipated workload.

Plans, formulates, and recommends measures to protect the installation from criminal acts to include increased patrol visibility, re-designate patrol areas and special enforcement operations Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing police officers and conducting current/long range operations planning based on funding, staffing requirements, workload, trends and mission requirements in the areas of law enforcement and security functions; distributing work and resources, as well as management of supplies and training; and developing methods and procedures affecting the overall police mission.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service or equivalent to (GS-09). Major Duties:

  • Plan, formulate, and recommend measures to protect the installation from criminal acts to include increased patrol visibility, re-designate patrol areas and special enforcement operations.
  • Responsible for the execution of administrative and personnel management responsibilities related to the accomplishment of the mission assigned.
  • Evaluate the work products of the unit for conformance to established standards of quality.
  • Provide function-oriented and administrative management and supervision, either directly or through subordinate supervisors, to a staff of military and civilian personnel.
  • Formulate long range operating plans based on assigned mission and functions; regulatory guidance, equipment, funding and staffing requirements necessary for mission accomplishment.
  • Establish objectives for various operating elements of the Police Department and assigns responsibilities to subordinates.
  • Make community relations visits, attends housing mayors meetings, selected residents social events, town hall meetings in representation of the installation.
  • Advise subordinates of new or revised regulations, policies and procedures. Observe work performance, answers questions and resolves problems.
  • Implement and monitor the organizations internal control procedures in accordance with regulations, and other appropriate guidance and directives, to ensure compliance.
