Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading test and evaluation programs for aircraft, marine vessels, sensors, and communication systems used by U.S.

Customs and Border Protection to ensure they work safely and effectively.

The role focuses on reviewing safety processes, improving testing strategies, integrating cybersecurity, and managing hands-on operations for major government acquisitions.

Full Job Description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, Air and Marine Operations, Operational Test and Evaluation Center, Hurlburt Field, FL.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Reviewing Flight Test Safety processes and procedures to deliver accurate data and reports that support senior management decision-making for major acquisition programs Developing and implementing process improvement strategies and conduct process analyses to guide management on acquisition and testing processes.

Integrating cybersecurity requirements into testing and implementation of aircraft, marine, sensor, and communications systems within acquisition programs.

Leading testing activities for major acquisition systems, overseeing developmental and operational testing and evaluation with recent hands-on experience.

Operating and managing rotary and fixed wing aircraft, marine vessels sensor and communications systems, addressing integration, maintenance, and safety issues.

Reviewing key technical documents such as Operational Requirement Documents (ORD), Integrated Logistics Support Plan (ILSP), Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and Mission Needs Statements (MNS) to support program objectives.

Act as a subject matter expert and consultant to CBP management and Program Managers throughout the acquisition process.
