Full Job Description

You will serve as a ENGINEERING PROGRAM MANAGER in the MEASUREMENT SCIENCE & ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT (MS00) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level ND-04 (GS-12/13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer providing technical leadership and project management within a metrology-focused environment, demonstrating extensive knowledge of the NAVAIR METCAL Program, the application of advanced metrology principles to solve complex measurement problems, and a thorough understanding of Navy processes for the acquisition, fielding, and lifecycle support of new systems.

  • You will be responsible for coordinating Navy Metrology and Calibration (METCAL) requirements with NAVAIR customers.
  • You will provide subject matter expertise to the NAVAIR METCAL Customer organizations and operations and pursues appropriate customer tasking and funding commitments.
  • You will be providing leadership by establishing reports and metrics to serve the department and the customer and by removing obstacles external to NSWC Corona.
  • You will formulate strategies, develops objectives, sets priorities, and leads change consistent with the command strategic direction and departmental goals and aligned with the customer's interest.
