Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, New York Field Office, located in Queens, NY.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Overseeing a program segment that performs administrative work Planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling, and evaluating the activities of subordinate organizations Identifying and resolving unique issues where no policy exists, taking innovative actions to address new needs and/or issues Providing administrative program direction to various directors and special staff for a variety of diverse programs and/or services NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.

This position starts at a salary of $125,431.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $163,062.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
In this Program Manager position you will become a key member of a team of Homeland Security professionals managing a variety of agency-wide law enforcement programs.
Typical work assignments include: Planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling and evaluating the activities of the organization Overseeing a program segment that performs professional, technical, and/or administrative work Overseeing the planning, direction, and timely execution of a program or several program segments, each managed through separate subordinate organization units Directing, scheduling, coordinating, and participating in resource management reviews to assess progress or resolve problem areas Making decisions and resolving problems involving interpretation of the law or unusual situations requiring interpretation and application of policy
