This role involves leading a team that analyzes data and evaluates programs for mental health hospitals and related services in Colorado's Department of Human Services.
The manager plans projects, creates reports for leaders and regulators, and ensures data accuracy to improve operations and meet compliance needs.
It's a good fit for someone with strong leadership skills, experience in data analysis, and a background in healthcare or public sector evaluation who enjoys collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

The OCFMH Data and Evaluation Team supports the Mental Health Hospitals, Forensic Services Division and the Mental Health Transitional Living Homes by conducting research and providing routine and ad hoc statistical and analytical reports for management, regulatory entities and external stakeholders, including the Office of the Governor, the Colorado General Assembly, Office of Civil and Forensic Mental Health Community Behavioral Health, and the Office of Criminal Justice.
Hybrid - Minimum 2 days on-site, 3 days remote.
• Responsible for directing and managing all aspects of the OCFMH Data & Evaluation Team by planning, formulating, developing, implementing and facilitating projects and objectives.
• Represents CDHS, OCFMH and the Data & Evaluation Team on work groups, committees as assigned.• Provides verbal and written communications for OCFMH Leadership and CDHS Senior Leadership.
• Ensures that assigned projects and reports meet identified milestones and deadlines. The position notifies appropriate senior leadership and/or managers of any delays, variances or unforeseen miscalculations.
• Participates in and coordinates the development of system changes to support successful outcomes.
• Instills a customer-service focus and accepts responsibility in maintaining respectful and professional relationships.
• Leads ongoing improvements, enhancements, updates and modifications to existing analyses, reports or data results.
• Collaborates with the OCFMH Leadership on fiscal operating budgets and legislative initiatives for new funding requests on capital and operating proposals.
• Performs and oversees the tactical planning, research and data integrity of the OCFMH Data & Evaluation Team. When new analyses are needed, the position oversees the team’s collaboration with various OCFMH, Mental Health Hospital (MHH) and internal staff and guides the development of new data collection systems, analytical approaches and report outputs, as needed.• Supervisions and leads staff in a professional manner.
Eight (8) years of relevant experience in managing a team, coordinating strategy and associated actions for performance metric plans, data analysis, creation of implementation and project plans, key metric development, process improvement, and documentation or closely related field.

Education and Experience:A combination of education in Healthcare Administration, Business, Data Analytics or closely related field and/or relevant experience in managing a team, coordinating strategy and associated actions for performance metric plans, data analysis, creation of implementation and project plans, key metric development, process improvement, and documentation or closely related field equal to eight (8) years.
Preferred Qualifications:Standard background check and reference check required.
This position requires State of Colorado residency at the time of application (unless otherwise identified in the posting), and residency within the state throughout the duration of employment in this position.
