Job Description

Summary

This job involves working under a military planner to independently handle projects, develop schedules, and direct programs for the commander's initiatives in the U.S. Army.

About the Position: This position serves under the general supervision of the Military Strategic Planner; independently studying, planning, developing, scheduling, and directing projects and aspects of the Commander's programs for which responsible.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) process; developing strategic guidance to optimize the command's strategic planning and continuous improvement process; conducting informational and decision briefings in regards to the mission; AND preparing written documents, speeches, and briefs for leadership.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

  • Serves as the Civilian Strategic Planner for JMRC and executive agent for 7th Army Training Command to synchronize major program elements for Program Objective Memorandum (POM) submission.
  • Develops or directs Combat Training Center (CTC) and USAREUR-AF strategy and programs to implement broad Department of Army training policy and guidance.
  • Directs, conducts, and oversees the completion of detailed studies in response to Commander Operations Group initiatives.
  • Develops JMRC future Program Objective Memorandum (POM) and emerging budget requirements necessary to meet administrative and mission program goals and objectives.
