Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping manage the hiring process for civilian employees in a key Department of Defense office, from figuring out what positions are needed to getting new hires settled in.

You'll draft job descriptions, prepare paperwork, and suggest ways to make recruitment smoother and better for candidates.

Full Job Description

This position is organizationally situated within the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)), under the Office of the Executive Director, providing direct support to the Administration and Personnel Management Office.

This placement reflects a staff advisory and operational support function at the enterprise level, with responsibilities spanning the full OUSW(R&E) organizational hierarchy and its subordinate components.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Leading and supporting all phases of civilian recruitment, from requirements identification through onboarding, streamlining processes, and enhancing candidate experience.

Drafting, reviewing, and coordinating position descriptions and recruitment packages, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.

Preparing correspondence, briefing materials, and documentation for civilian staffing actions, ensuring accuracy and clarity.

Identifying issues, recommending solutions, and escalating complex or ambiguous matters appropriately.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
