Job Description

Summary

This job involves analyzing and improving education programs for K-12 schools run by the Department of Defense, focusing on integrating systems and managing projects to make things more efficient.

You'll prepare reports for leaders, evaluate programs for compliance, and develop strategies to support policy implementation.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major Duties:

  • Prepare reports and justifications to brief high level officials on program requirements.
  • Evaluate education programs to ensure compliance.
  • Investigate potential problem areas to develop solutions or new program objectives.
  • Develop strategies supporting implementation and/or administration of policy.
  • Manage projects related to system development, implementation, and upgrades.
  • Support multi-layered, multi-disciplinary project teams with broad impact on educational mission.
