This job involves leading a team at a naval air base in Nevada to manage advanced simulation systems used for pilot training and military exercises, handling everything from daily operations and vendor contracts to budgeting and integrating new tech.
It's ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and experience in technical projects, especially in defense or aviation, who can communicate complex ideas to top leaders and ensure everything runs securely and on budget.
You will serve as the PMA-205 Advanced Programs Site Lead for the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC) Campus, located at Naval Air Station (NAS) Fallon, NV.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band (DA-05) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Leading technical teams and vendors in the operation, maintenance, and modernization of complex simulation systems to support high-stakes training and operational rehearsals; 2) Managing the full procurement and contract lifecycle, including developing statements of work (SOW), directing and evaluating vendor performance, and authorizing payments for services; 3) Serving as the lead program manager and liaison to senior leadership, responsible for strategic planning, reporting on system upgrades, managing budgets, and communicating complex technical risks; and 4) Overseeing the lifecycle of technical systems, including the integration of new capabilities, while ensuring strict compliance with security protocols for sensitive data and equipment.
