Summary

This job involves planning and coordinating work in a naval calibration shop, where you'll review orders, figure out needed materials, write instructions for calibrating electronic equipment, and schedule tasks to keep everything running smoothly.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER (ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT MECHANIC) in the CALIBRATION SHOP (c/952) of the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (c/900) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.

  • You will review job orders and related instructions received in the production shop to determine materials needed to accomplish the work outlined
  • You will write Task Group Instructions (TGI) for routine and complex calibration jobs as required.
  • You will determine appropriate shop work centers, schedule work requests for material procurement and ensure delivery is coordinated with shop work schedules.
  • You will follow progress of work and assist other planners and shop supervisors in elimination backlogs and revising material requirement lists and completion dates.
