Job Description

Summary

This job involves planning and organizing maintenance work for submarine and ship piping systems at a naval facility in Washington, creating detailed work packages to ensure projects are completed efficiently and correctly.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-10 (for GS-11) or GS-11 (for GS-12) in developing or assisting with work packages for submarine/ship piping systems maintenance

  • Ability to research technical information and develop accurate job material lists (JML) for cost estimates and procurement
  • Proficiency in using Labor Standards and Uniform Method and Standard (UMS) tools to estimate man-hours
  • Understanding of procedures, test requirements, and Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) for quality assurance
  • Experience with Controlled Work Packages (CWP), Formal Work Packages (FWP), Planned Maintenance Requirement (PMR), and Corrective Maintenance requests
  • Relevant paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work, that demonstrates critical competencies in production control

Full Job Description

You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (PIPEFITTER) in the Planning Division Code 421 of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Salary Ranges: GS-11: $83,935 - $109,122 GS-12: $100,602 - $130,786 GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing controlled and formal work packages related to submarine/ship piping systems preventative and corrective maintenance work for the successful execution and completion of planned work projects.

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting in the development of work packages by researching technical information and determining the manhour estimates, material cost, work boundaries or quality assurance requirements related to submarine/ship piping systems preventative and corrective maintenance work.

  • You will develop Controlled Work Packages (CWP) and Formal Work Packages (FWP) from Planned Maintenance Requirement (PMR) requests, Corrective Maintenance work requests, and TRIPER component overhaul requests.
  • You will use Labor Standards and Uniform Method and Standard (UMS) tools to accurately and consistently determine man-hour estimates for the most efficient production effort.
  • You will research on technical information prior to preparation of work packages. Use available resources to develop accurate Job Material Lists (JML) to provide accurate material cost estimates and to aid in procurement of required in-use materials.
  • You will determine the proper procedures, applicable test requirements, and Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) required to certify that work is performed correctly and that repaired systems or components will function as designed.
