This job involves coordinating vehicle repairs and maintenance for state government fleets, including assigning vendors, processing payments, and handling emergency calls after hours.
The role supports agencies by ensuring vehicles, heavy equipment, and boats get the right services at the best value.
It's a good fit for someone with hands-on experience in automotive work who is organized, tech-savvy, and comfortable with customer service in a government setting.
Receive requests from government agency customers for preventive services, unscheduled maintenance, and repairs to government owned vehicles, heavy equipment, and boats/marine equipment using FleetWave and the Commercial Vendor Repair Program (CVRP).
Identify vendors to provide customer-requested maintenance and assign purchase orders based on vehicle, heavy equipment, and boat problems.
Process a computerized check of the vehicle's repair history to ensure vehicles receive service from the appropriate vendor.
Ensure vendors have correct payment information when invoicing for services provided.
Identify warranties on state-owned vehicles, heavy equipment, and boats/marine equipmentand request warranty assistance from the manufacturer on behalf of the agency customer to obtain best value services.
Work on a rotational after-hours on call schedule per CVRP's Emergency Service Program guidelines. Provide after-hours emergency assistance to state agencies and other entities covered by CVRP.
Receive calls utilizing a State Fleet Management (SFM) provided cell phone to assist customers with after-hours emergency situations and record call information.
Assist with processing and distributing vehicle safety recall notices SFM receives from vehicle manufacturers. Identify the vehicle the recall notice applies to and the agency that owns the vehicle.
Notify the owning or leasing agency that the vehicle needs to be taken to a dealership to have the recall completed.
