Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing the government's commercial purchase card program for the U.S.

Marine Corps in Japan, including training users, issuing cards, monitoring spending, reconciling payments with banks, and ensuring everything follows rules to avoid penalties.

It's a good fit for someone with experience in financial oversight or procurement who is detail-oriented, good at coordinating with teams, and comfortable working in a structured military environment.

Note that medical and dental care is very limited in Japan, so applicants should be prepared for that.

You will serve as a PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST in the MARINE CORPS INSTALLATIONS PACIFIC (MCIPAC) ofMARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER . ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.

GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Establishing, overseeing, and implementing command policy, procedure, training, and delegation of government commercial purchase card program; AND Setting-up, maintaining, and auditing government commercial purchase card program accounts.

  • You will provide training, issue cards, and monitor the integrity of purchase card use in the Government Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC) program.
  • You will coordinate with various commands and the contracted bank to reconcile and transmit payments.
  • You will conduct follow-ups of certification deadlines to assist command in avoiding government penalties.
  • You will ensure that planning, coordination, approvals, negotiation, and other program execution and administrative requirements are completed in compliance with governing regulations and policies.
  • You will serve in an advisory capacity to government personnel, contractors, bank officials and others concerned with the GCPC Program.
