Employee will be assigned to the Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR) Inspection and Enforcement Section in the Fayetteville regional office and will report directly to the Deputy Assistant Director.

Duties and expectations:

  • Employee will be responsible for all purchases made for the Division of Mining and Reclamation, Fayetteville regional office, including office supplies, uniforms, office equipment, field office equipment, etc.

  • Work with and directly assist the Deputy Assistant Director to ensure all units are following purchasing guidelines.

  • Responsible for entering purchase orders, change orders, and agency delivery orders in Oasis Financial.

  • Pay and code all invoices in Oasis Financial.

  • Review state contracts available for purchases, coordinate purchases with vendors, and assist with bidding of new contracts.

  • Maintain all inventory records for the Fayetteville office.

  • Serve as Vehicle, Uniform, and Safety Coordinator for Fayetteville DMR.

  • Ideal applicant will have experience with and working knowledge of State purchasing guidelines.

  • Additional duties as assigned or required.

Notes:

  • Employees involved with specific DEP programs subject to the surface mining control and reclamation act (SMCRA) of 1977 must file prior to final appointment and annually thereafter, a statement of employment and financial interest (OSM23).

  • Qualifying applicants will be required to complete an internet based profile assessment to compare the applicant's thinking and reasoning skills, behavioral traits and the occupational interests against the traits determined to be important to the posted position.

Qualifications

Training: High school diploma or the equivalent.
AND
Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid clerical experience which included purchasing supplies and maintaining inventory.
OR
Substitution: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience.
