Full Job Description
- Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming mail; processes outgoing mail.
- Coordinates agency postal services.
- Supervises employees engaged in mail handling tasks.
- Maintains records of insured and registered mail; maintains billing records.
- Requires knowledge of policies, regulations and procedures for handling mail, knowledge of filing systems and the maintenance of office records.
- Also requires use of postal meters and scales.
- Corresponding detailed records; reports transactions to SCDC financial accounting branch.
- Ensures inmate legal mail is received and distributed in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Assists with coordinating postage meter replenishment and postage reimbursement from inmates on a monthly basis or as required.
- Resume preferred but not required.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
