Summary

This job involves leading the evaluation and integration of new technologies to support cyber defense missions, acting as a key advisor to top leaders and building partnerships with industry and academia.

Full Job Description

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.

It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the Professional Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - EM/Emerging Technology Directorate.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: experience with innovative business practices, ability to interface the realities of current operational constraints, written and verbal communications and decision-making skills.

The ability to work with Senior and Executive management, experience in strategic transformation and outreach with industry, and multitasking projects with accuracy in a timely fashion.

All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Major Duties:

  • Serving as the technical authority and/or senior consultant to senior and/or executive mission partner representatives on behalf of the agency.
  • Ensures the development and refinement of strategic long-range plans, which are integrated with the command resource strategy and with business/mission planning initiatives.
  • Analyzes technology trends and/or end-user requirements to meet evolving mission requirements.
  • Promotes innovation capabilities and processes to accelerate delivery of mission critical capabilities.
  • Serves as the primary voice to assess the functionality, maturity and suitability of emerging technologies from the users' perspective.
  • Serves as entry point for industry and academic visits, maintain engagement processes; connect industry and academic partners with the agency's subject matter experts to enhance and develop working relationships.
