Summary

Full Job Description

You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER in the Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC) of WEPSTA SEAL BCH SECURITY DET.

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience investigating unusual situations pertaining to violations of the law.

Experience conducting checkpoints/roadblocks at various locations to reduce criminal activity. Experience inspecting packages/personal belongings when admitting personnel into controlled areas.

And experience responding to emergency calls for service while adhering to state and federal laws.

GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience issuing citations for violations of the law.

Experience preparing reports and orders for dissemination to other law enforcement officials. And experience protecting property, equipment, data, or materials.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will respond to and investigate complaints while interpreting and enforcing state and federal laws, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), DoD and Navy regulations, and installation directives, rules and regulations.
  • You will use Navy/CNIC authorized/issued equipment such as a firearm and authorized less than lethal force devices requiring decisive action and decision-making during a high-risk situation or response.
  • You will ensure individuals requesting access to the installation have proper identification.
  • You will prepare detailed reports, forms, and citations concerning all incidents and action taken.
  • You will set up and conduct checkpoints/roadblocks at various locations throughout the installation in support of Random Anti-terrorism Measures (RAMS) and to reduce criminal activity and ensure motor vehicle safety.
  • You will perform traffic law enforcement using specialized equipment such as radar, breathalyzer.
  • You will operate electronic tactical police communications equipment, including mobile data terminals to receive dispatches, respond to calls and complete official reports.
  • You will respond to alarms, emergency calls, complaints, and other calls for service while on duty.
