Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties: - This position is located at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The incumbent performs journeyman pipefitter duties in the Plumbing and Electric Shop of the Facility Management (FM) Division. Major Duties: -Install, modify, repair, troubleshoot, and test new and existing high pressure piping systems. -Install, maintain, and repair all utilities such as water, sewerage and gas systems. -Install and repair steam operated technical medical equipment (auto-claves, washer sterilizers, bedpan washers, etc.). -Keep all tools, hand and power, in good working order -Work from work orders, plans, sketches, and oral instructions. Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7 AM-3:30 PM and may be required to be present to provide off-hours support for utility outages, maintenance and projects support, etc. This position is eligible for Alternate Work Schedule of 8 - 9 hour days, 1 - 8 hour day and one day off a pay period being a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
