Full Job Description

You will serve as a Pipe and Machinery Repair Shop Supervisor in the Pipe Shop of the Production Resources Department of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: -Experience in managing shop operations, repairs, and overhaul through subordinate supervisors; -Experience in practicing analytical management techniques, including production and material control, cost control and personnel management; -Experience managing and developing long term training for various departments.

  • You will prepare production status reports describing delivery status and forecast, schedule problems or delinquencies and schedule recovery actions.
  • You will assess progress with planning, procurement; manufacturing and delivery.
  • You will provide long and short range planning for each assigned project.
  • You will plan, schedule and assign work to subordinate supervisors, shop planners and staff.
  • You will coordinate work projects and workers to appropriately balance support for all assigned projects.
  • You will direct the execution control process of the project.
  • You will perform the full range of personnel and administrative supervision over the assigned workforce.
