Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as a technician to ensure safety during repair operations that deal with radiation, helping to protect people from harmful exposure and contamination in a naval shipyard setting.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a in the PHYSICAL SCIENCE TECHNICIAN PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. The location for this position is Garden Island, Australia.

Employee's initial pay and compensation will be based upon their current duty station and/or residence as determined by the employing activity.

  • You will provide radiological controls for any of a wide variety of complicated repair operations involving primary systems and other specials projects.
  • You will improvise plans, procedures or equipment set-ups to meet unusual occasionally recurring needs.
  • You will investigate deficiencies or accidents which were not fully resolved by lower grade technicians; determines causes and ways to prevent recurrence.
  • You will provide expertise for the immediate assessment of unprecedented problems and establishment of corrective/controlling procedures.
  • You will take charge of response to radiation related emergencies and incidents until replaced by a senior radiological control supervisor or manager.
