This job involves overseeing the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment at a high-security prison in Michigan, managing a team of skilled workers and prisoner crews to keep everything running safely and securely.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in construction or mechanical repairs who can lead teams in a structured, high-stakes environment like a correctional facility.

EducationEducational level typically acquired through completion of high school.ExperienceOne year of experience equivalent to a Power Plant Supervisor 11 or Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor 11.ORTwo years of experience as a supervisor of two or more skilled building trades; i.e.
building construction, alteration, maintenance, and/or repair, including one year equivalent to a Building Trades Supervisor 11.ORFive years of power plant operator or maintenance mechanic experience, including two years equivalent to a Power Plant Operator 10 or Maintenance Mechanic 10; five years of building trades experience, including two years equivalent to a Building Trades Crew Leader E10; or five years of skilled trades experience, including two years of crew leader experience equivalent to the 10 level in state service.

Ethical Standards and Conduct (Note: you do not need to fill out the form)New hires to the MDOC along with previous MDOC employees that are returning after being away from the department for more than two years will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) either 40 hours or 80 hours of initial in-person training based on their level of offender contact and job classification.
All new employees will complete additional online training to successfully complete their non-custody new employee training.
This is a drug and alcohol test-designated position.
