Full Job Description

You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the PHYSICAL SECURITY DIVISION of NAVBASE POINT LOMA SEC DET.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing threat assessments for personnel and assets which have anti-terrorism responsibilities; 2) Updating plans, manuals, and instructions to provide recommendations regarding changes to security specifications; 3) Conducting inspections of mission essential vulnerable assets, arms, ammunition, and explosive storage facilities and critical infrastructure; 4) Conducting classroom, formal, and informal training on crime prevention and physical security awareness programs; 5) Serving as a Loss Prevention Technical Specialist/ Security Advisor for the installation during meetings.

  • You will assess the threat levels at facilities throughout the Command's Region to implement immediate security countermeasures.
  • You will determine and identify the necessary resources (e.g., funds, staff, equipment's, etc.) to implement effective Physical Security or Loss Prevention Programs.
  • You will develop a Loss Prevention Training program for personnel to include classes on topics such as alarm procedures, badge requirements, physical security inspections, emergency response actions, or similar topics.
  • You will conduct annual Physical Security surveys to assess vulnerabilities and risks.
