As an Equipment Operator for PennDOT, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and smooth operation of our roadways, especially during the challenging winter months when snow plowing becomes essential.
Your contributions extend beyond snow removal to encompass work on various construction sites, where your skills directly impact the infrastructure and safety of the traveling public.
Each day presents opportunities to tackle manual labor challenges, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and dedication.
In addition to operating heavy machinery, you will also utilize both motorized and non-motorized hand tools to perform minor repairs and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and trucks.
Other assignments may involve performing flagger duties for traffic control, as well as assisting with roadside and culvert maintenance.
Your role also involves detailed record-keeping, as you complete daily logs and reports to track equipment usage and maintenance history.
This documentation is vital for operational efficiency and fosters accountability within the team.
