This role involves the proficient operation of highway construction and maintenance machinery, alongside various manual labor tasks within a highway or bridge maintenance team.
You will be essential with snow plowing and working at construction sites, both of which are essential for ensuring the safety of travelers on Pennsylvania roads.
In addition to operating equipment, you will engage in manual labor, conduct minor repairs, and perform preventative maintenance on trucks and machinery.
When not operating equipment, you will also take on flagger duties to manage traffic flow.To ensure safe operation and minimize equipment wear, you will make necessary field adjustments and carry out minor repairs and maintenance, which includes cleaning and servicing the machinery.
You will also demonstrate the operation of assigned equipment to fellow employees and assist Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanics with repairs, while maintaining accurate equipment records.
