Summary

This part-time role at Piedmont Technical College involves helping new students choose their majors, plan their classes, and navigate college resources to set them up for success.

Full Job Description

The part-time enrollment advisor will work directly with incoming students at Piedmont Technical College to guide them as they begin their academic journeys. This will include confirming and validating the student’s choice of major, thoroughly reviewing all requirements, college policies, course placement, skills needed to earn a credential successfully, and reviewing college resources to build success strategies. The advisor will review student barriers and strategies for success and guide students through selecting classes, creating an academic plan, and the registration process. Enrollment Advisors onboard students to the technologies used at the college, including Pathway, DegreeWorks, D2L, and Navigate. Additionally, this position will assist with calling projects to schedule advising appointments, assisting students with admission to the college, and referring students to career planning as needed. The part-time advisor will serve on the Thriving in Advising and Advising Boosters committees, contributing to and facilitating advisor training and professional development opportunities. Advisors will also be asked to travel to other campuses and high schools for enrollment and advisement events. Occasionally, evening and weekend events may also be required. Position is part-time, temporary, 35 hours per week.

Requirements

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. Must possess excellent customer service skills, critical thinking skills, strong communication skills, and basic computer skills. Must be dependable and have the ability to multi-task.
