This job involves driving a vehicle to collect coins and cash from parking meters along assigned routes in Detroit, handling the secure transport and processing of the revenue, and performing basic vehicle maintenance.

Full Job Description

Under general supervision, drives a collection vehicle with coin vaults, canisters, cashboxes and/or personnel to an assigned collection route to collect and transport parking revenue. 

Requirements

  1. Operates a light commercial or passenger vehicle to transport revenue vaults, canisters, cashboxes, collection personnel and collected revenue.
  2. Removes and replaces vaults of meter devices.
  3. Empties coin boxes for single parking spaces from meter devices into collection canisters.
  4. Loads, secures and unloads collection canisters and cashboxes in vehicles.
  5. Observes and monitors team member's collection activities.
  6. Reports inoperative, damaged or missing devices.
  7. Completes standardized reports.
  8. Carries revenue vaults, canisters and cashboxes into vault.
  9. Unlocks coin canisters and cashboxes and empties money into hopper.
  10. Relocks empty vaults, canisters and cashboxes.
  11. Repairs broken canisters and cashboxes.
  12. Performs minor servicing of the vehicle, such as washing, changing flat tires, adding fuel, and charging the battery.

Qualifications

High School graduation or GED.
