This seasonal job involves working as a ranger at a Pennsylvania state park, where you'll help visitors by providing information, ensuring safety, and handling issues like emergencies or rule violations while patrolling the grounds.

As a Park Resource Ranger, your work will focus on providing professional visitor services, outdoor recreation services and information, and overall public safety.
You will be responsible for traveling the park by vehicle, on foot, or by bicycle to address problems or concerns which may pose a threat to the health and safety of park visitors.
You will inspect buildings, facilities, and grounds for safety hazards and immediately correct or control the hazard.
You will also oversee visitor activities to ensure proper use of the park's facilities; educate visitors regarding park rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; and assist with making visitor reservations and issuing permits.
Within this role, you may be required to participate in providing emergency care for visitors and conducting search and rescue efforts.
In addition, you will respond to visitor complaints or incidents, reporting any violations of the law to the Park Manager.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits.
The season runs from approximately April 2026 until December 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay.
The employee will automatically be returned to employment in April 2027.
