Summary

Requirements

This role involves performing routine manual tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment for visitors while also supporting park staff with construction and maintenance duties. Responsibilities include general housekeeping and building maintenance, such as cleaning park restrooms, pavilions, and grills, as well as emptying trash bins and picking up litter.

Additionally, the position requires the use of groundskeeping equipment for mowing and weed removal in parks, canal bridges, and crossings, operating various small tractors, zero-turn mowers, push mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers. Regular maintenance and safety checks of landscaping equipment are essential, including monitoring fluid levels, cleaning filters, greasing moving parts, ensuring proper tire inflation, and sharpening blades, with any issues reported to the maintenance supervisor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026, until November 2026, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2027.
  • Work shifts/days vary, will work 5 days/37.5 hours per week to include weekends and holidays.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
