Requirements
This role involves performing advanced skilled work across various trades, including building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and masonry, specifically in the construction, maintenance, and repair of park facilities, equipment, and natural resources. Under the guidance of a supervisor or park manager, the individual is responsible for reaching out to vendors to gather price quotes, calculating the costs of necessary supplies and equipment, estimating the man-hours needed for tasks, and preparing documentation for supervisor review and approval. Additionally, this position serves as a lead worker, overseeing semi-skilled laborers and other personnel to ensure the successful completion of projects.
In the carpentry aspect of the role, the individual employs both hand and power tools to execute rough and finish carpentry tasks related to the maintenance, renovation, and construction of park facilities. This includes interpreting blueprints, sketches, and diagrams to effectively repair or install various elements such as floor coverings, doors, locks, screens, roofs, soffits, fascia, spouting, windows, and decks. The carpenter is also responsible for planning, designing, and constructing wooden projects, including storage cabinets and shelving units.
In plumbing, the individual undertakes repairs, renovations, and new installations within the plumbing systems of all facilities. Responsibilities include clearing blocked drains, fixing leaking faucets, fountains, showers, urinals, and toilets, as well as replacing hot water tanks and installing or repairing sewage and water lines. The role also involves pulling, repairing, and reinstalling submersible water well pumps and lift station pumps, along with draining pipes in preparation for winter.
The masonry duties encompass both new construction and maintenance work related to buildings, bridges, foundations, walkways, and walls. This includes constructing forms for cement work, mixing cement and plaster, and finishing cement with masonry tools. The mason is tasked with pouring footers, floors, walls, and bases for signs, as well as laying concrete blocks and stones for various structures such as walls, fireplaces, culverts, and headwalls.
In the mechanical domain, the individual conducts preventative maintenance and performs checklist inspections on vehicles, equipment, and tools to ensure their safe operation.
Finally, in the electrical component of the role, the individual is responsible for performing installations and repairs related to electrical systems, including new construction of fuse and circuit panels, as well as cords and other electrical components, ensuring that all work meets safety standards and operational requirements.Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Seasonal, Full-time employment without benefits.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position will require weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirements:
- You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
