Paralegal 2 (PL2/DLS)
This recruitment will be used to fill multiple positions.
The HCA oversees critical health services for Washington residents; the work this Paralegal 2 does directly impacts people's access to healthcare, offering a sense of purpose.

About the division:
The Division of Legal Services (DLS) provides support to the entire agency to mitigate risks, comply with changing laws, and assist the agency in accomplishing its strategic and tactical goals.
The Office of Legal Research & Analysis (ORLA) is comprised of paralegal staff that support DLS’ enterprise and reports to ORLA’s Paralegal 3.
About the position:
This position performs complex substantive paralegal duties assigned by the Paralegal 3 and DLS leadership, such as researching hearing requests, working with HCA program staff to resolve cases prior to hearings, supporting DLS hearings staff in the preparation of legal documents, managing discovery, preparing substantive analytical reports using data to track and trend hearing issues and outcomes, and may represent HCA in select administrative hearings or negotiations under the supervision of an attorney.
This position is eligible to telework but is frequently required to report on-site to meet business need.
The default assigned work location of all Health Care Authority (HCA) positions – both on-site and telework eligible positions – is within the State of Washington. This position reports to Olympia, WA.
Frequency of onsite work will vary based on business and operational needs. HCA has currently suspended the ability to support out-of-state telework.
