This job involves reaching out to women who are pregnant or new mothers to promote breastfeeding, provide health information on topics like quitting smoking and managing weight, and help with program enrollment through calls, events, and community presentations.
It's a part-time role in a public health program focused on supporting families.
A good fit would be someone with customer service experience who enjoys community work and has a passion for maternal and child health.
Meets with and makes presentations to individuals, organizations and community groups to explain, publicize and promote the program.Represents the program at health fairs, community events, classes, seminars and other gatherings.
Assists with displays.
Assembles and distributes literature, brochures, pamphlets related to program information and breastfeeding promotion and support.Promotes and supports breastfeeding among postpartum women by making telephone calls.
Develops and maintains resource lists. Answers telephone inquiries regarding the program and breastfeeding support to the participants of the program.
Assists clients making application to the program.Collects, tabulates, updates and maintains program records and statistics related to breastfeeding by program participants.
Assembles periodic statistical reports.Examples of Other DutiesMay transport clients.

Qualifications Required QualificationsPossession of a high school diploma or appropriate equivalentPlusTwo years' clerical experience which includes public interaction.(Additional education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years.)Licenses and CertificatesPossession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a non-commercial, class C Maryland driver license is required at the time of application.Proof of Licenses, Certifications and EducationApplicants are required to submit proof of licenses, certifications and education beyond high school to meet the required and preferred qualifications of the position.
