This position conducts monitoring, inspections, and compliance activities within an assigned geographic area to ensure adherence to the Oil and Gas Act, Conservation Law, Coal and Gas Resource Coordination Law, and related regulations.
Duties include promoting the Department’s mission, entering accurate data into DEP systems, and performing routine inspections of oil and gas wells and facilities during all phases of development.
You will respond to citizen complaints, document findings, and issue Notices of Violation or escalate enforcement actions when necessary.
The role also involves reviewing well records and related submissions, answering inquiries from operators and the public, and operating gas-detection instruments during investigations.
Additional responsibilities include collecting and preserving gas samples, assisting with stray gas and gas storage reservoir inspections, and documenting violations through photographs and videos that meet evidentiary standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in New Stanton. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
