This job involves inspecting oil and gas wells and operations in Pennsylvania to ensure they follow environmental laws and protect natural resources.
You'll check sites during drilling, production, and cleanup, write reports on any issues, and work with the public and legal teams to address violations.

As an Oil and Gas Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of gas storage reservoir wells and fields within the Southwest District to evaluate compliance with the Oil and Gas Act, Conservation Law, Coal and Gas Resource Coordination Law, and state rules and regulations.
Inspections will be conducted during drilling, production, alteration, and plugging phases.
You will conduct data entry and compose written reports and documentation surrounding investigations, in addition to initiating compliance actions when violations of applicable permits, laws, and regulations have occurred.
You will be tasked with notifying operators of violations and imminent threats to public health, as well as assisting compliance specialists, management, and legal staff with case preparations for second level enforcement actions.
Within this role, you may be required to serve as an expert witness at legal proceedings.
Excellent interpersonal skills are vital, as you will be in frequent contact with the public while responding to citizen complaints regarding oil and gas activities relating to environmental concerns or health and safety threats.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in New Stanton. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
