About the Position: This position is located at Schertz Community Based Medical Home in Schertz, Texas. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes screening inquiries to determine nature of the request, managing office files in an automated system, and processing purchase requests to support organizational needs.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Management or Healthcare Administration.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9.

Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Major Duties:

  • Serve as liaison to the installation Human Resources Office to manage personnel actions, pay, training, etc.
  • Order supplies from all sources.
  • Provide assistance to other personnel concerning word processing and other office software programs.
  • Maintain Clinic civilian personnel records and security files.
  • Coordinate training for all of the staff.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports to reflect current fund status.
  • Track expenditures throughout the financial year working from various documents.
