Job Description

Summary

This job is for an office assistant at a correctional center in West Virginia, where you'll handle scheduling meetings, classes, and visits, manage supplies and records, and support management staff.

It's ideal for someone organized and detail-oriented with experience in office tasks, especially in a structured environment like a jail or prison.

You'll also take notes at meetings and keep manuals and reports up to date for staff and inmates.

Under general supervision, performs advanced level tasks involving interpretation and application of policies and practices. Interprets office procedures, rules and regulations. May function as a lead worker for clerical positions. Provides clerical support to the Associate Superintendent 2 of Programs and other upper management staff. In charge of scheduling and coordinating meetings, inmate classes, and calendar for visitations. This employee will also manage office supplies and equipment for the assigned unit and inmate units. Assist with taking the minutes for the monthly POD meetings, maintains Unit Manuals for each unit, manages books and reports for inmates. Performs other duties as assigned.
