The Attorney General’s Office is recruiting for a two permanent full time Office Assistant 3 positions in the Financial Services Division. These positions are located in Tumwater, Washington, and are not union-represented.

The Attorney General’s Office is recruiting for a permanent full time Office Assistant 3 in the Financial Services Division. This position is located in Tumwater, Washington, and is not union-represented.

Office Assistant 3 (range 38) Salary range: $41,004 - $54,504

The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

The following stipends may apply based on position requirements:

  • Incumbents assigned to our Seattle office location receive an additional 5% King County Location Pay stipend.
  • Incumbents assigned to a position designated as requiring dual language skills will receive a 5% Dual Language Requirement Pay stipend.

About the Financial Services Division

The Financial Services Division (FIS) provides support and accountability for agency financial and budgetary decisions and practices.

FIS ensures that the reporting and transmission of agency financial information is complete, accurate and timely.

FIS is also responsible for agency budget development and monitoring in addition to accounting, payroll, contracts and purchasing functions.

These positions provide key administrative support to the Financial Services Division enabling the three main sections: Accounting, Contracts and Budget to provide the most effective, professional support possible to the Agency.

These are primarily onsite positions that assist with filing and records maintenance, scheduling, mail and support.


Duties and Essential Functions of an Office Assistant 3
Some Specific Tasks include:

  • Mail Operation –Sorts and distribute incoming and outgoing mail for the Financial Services Units.
  • Supplies - Creates purchase requests
  • Space and Calendar Management – Manage divisional calendars, conference room and equipment, tracks and assists preparing for and dealing with meeting requirements.
  • Facility and Equipment - Receives and processes requests in accordance to procedures for the facility. Initiates equipment maintenance and repair service calls as needed.
  • Record Management - Routine filing, copying and document preparation. Archives Financial Services records as requested year round.
  • Filing –accurate daily filing of records used across AGO.
  • Special projects for division units as needed

Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of clerical experience.

You may have gained relevant professional experience through previous volunteering with organizations, serving in internships or as a member of a board or commission.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Administrative experience and knowledge of general office practices
  • A passion for public service
  • An ability to work collaboratively with others and effectively interact with others who have diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • An ability to exercise professional judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs and familiarity with video conference software such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • Clear written and verbal customer service skills.
  • Experience with electronic and paper file management.
