This job involves helping occupational therapists treat patients by carrying out therapy plans, working with individuals or groups, and supporting patient care in a military medical facility.
It requires assisting with assessments, documenting progress, and keeping treatment areas safe and organized.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in therapy support, strong communication skills, and an interest in helping military personnel and families recover from injuries or illnesses.
About the Position: The Occupational Therapy Assistant serves as the OTA for a designated work area with the medical treatment facility (MTF), working under the general supervision of an Occupational Therapist as required by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) supervision guidelines and standards of practice.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes includes implementing occupational therapy treatment plans or instructing on occupational therapy programs in a individual or group setting.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Kinesiotherapy, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science.
OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9.
