  • Licensure as a Nutritionist by the Maryland Board of Dietetic Practice
  • Possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a noncommercial Class C Maryland driver's license
  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate nutrition programs, including assessment, counseling, and education
  • Supervisory experience over subordinate staff

Regular Schedule: 34 hours per week

A Non-Merit vacancy exists in Clinical Services/Women, Infants & Children (WIC), Department of Health and Human Services.

Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan.

Requirements

Under general supervision, plans, develops, implements, and conducts programs providing professional nutrition services.

Plans, implements, conducts, and evaluates programs providing various nutrition services such as nutrition assessment, counseling, and education.

Supervises subordinate staff.Develops and implements the nutrition education component of public health programs.

Conducts studies of local nutritional needs and resources.Provides advice, consultation, and guidance to human service providers, community organizations, and individuals regarding nutrition.

Researches, prepares, and presents reports on nutrition and related health topics.

Researches and responds to requests and inquiries from the public and staff.Assists in developing grant proposals and justifications.

Prepares and administers program budgets.Examples of Other DutiesMay perform other related duties as required.(NOTE: The duties and responsibilities listed above are for the purpose of determining a common set of minimum qualifications for all positions in this class.

Qualifications Required QualificationsGraduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in nutrition, nutrition education, dietetics, or a related fieldplusat least three years' professional experience in human nutrition or dietetics.(Qualifying education beyond a bachelor's degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.)Licenses and CertificatesCurrent registration as a Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association and licensure as a Nutritionist by the Maryland Board of Dietetic Practice are required at the time of appointment.

Possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a noncommercial, Class C Maryland driver's license is required at the time of appointment.Proof of Licenses, Certifications and EducationApplicants are required to submit proof of licenses, certifications and education beyond high school to meet the required qualifications of the position.

Diplomas or transcript must show the applicant's major field of study. Copies and unofficial transcripts are acceptable.
