The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections is actively seeking conscientious Nurse Aides dedicated to supporting our nurses at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Laurel Highlands.

In this position, you will support the nursing staff in carrying out individualized care plans for inmates.
In completing basic nursing skills and procedures, you will help the staff maintain optimum inmate health and provide quality care.
Some of your daily duties will include collecting specimens as directed by the Registered Nurse for urine, feces, and sputum.
You can expect to complete or assist inmates with daily living activities and hygiene to ensure basic physical care needs are met.
In this line of work, you will follow a nursing care plan, provide care and interventions consistent with inmate’s needs, and document assigned aspects of the nursing care plan.
Additionally, you will be expected to perform emergency procedures as indicated, such as CPR or participating in emergency response drills.
