Full Job Description

You will serve as a NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST INSPECTOR LEADER in the Operations Branch, Code 130, Nondestructive Test Division of PSNS and IMF.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • You will independently perform complex nondestructive testing and analysis on complex and non-routine mechanical components, piping systems, and structural assemblies.
  • You will perform calibration and safety checks of equipment prior to and after the performance of nondestructive test inspections.
  • You will acquire and record test results, and data using enhanced signal processing and acquisition software on computer-based platforms.
  • You will utilize the most advanced test methods and procedures in solving complex inspection problems.
  • You will ensure new technology and lessons learned are incorporated in the processes of the Nondestructive Test Division and establish suitable methods of assessing and continually improving processes and inspections.
