The city of Las Vegas invites applications for Neighborhood Services Administrator.
This position will administer, coordinate, maintain and oversee assigned human and public services functions and programs, such as community outreach, homelessness initiatives, neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing and community partnerships.
Provide leadership in both the design and implementation of new programs, and in the analysis and enhancement of existing programs to ensure they meet city and employee needs, comply with all legal requirements and are cost effective.

Supervision Received and Exercised
Receives direction from the assigned manager and the Director, Neighborhood Services, or higher level management staff.
Acts as a formal supervisor, exercising direct supervision, including the selection of new employees, monitoring and formally evaluating employee performance, and administering the progressive discipline and termination of employees.
Essential Functions:
Oversee, administer, plan and coordinate the management, maintenance and implementation of assigned community services programs.
Act as supervisor over staff, including interviewing and selecting job applicants, training and cross-training, overseeing work, and establishing and evaluating appropriate performance standards in accordance with department objectives.
Marginal Functions:
Experience:
Four years of experience in community development, housing development, workforce development, urban planning, non-profit agencies, social work or other experience related to the area of assignment.
Training:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major in community development, urban affairs, urban planning, business administration, public administration, or a field related to the area of assignment.
A combination of formal education and directly related work experience my substitute for the degree. The city assesses 1.5 years of fulltime experience as equivalent to one year of education.
License or Certificate
Professional certification in the area of assignment is desirable.
Knowledge of:
Operational characteristics, services and activities of urban and neighborhood planning, community initiatives, community development and social service programs.
Customer service principles and techniques.
Federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations and city policies governing assigned program provisions.
Pertinent federal, state and local grants funding regulations.
Financial/fiscal monitoring and reporting activities.
Standard office software applications including spreadsheet, word processing and email.
