The OpportunityWSDOT is currently seeking Construction Administration Engineer for our North Central Region.

  • Review, compile and distribute administrative documents.
  • Conduct contract documentation reviews.
  • Ensure that all region administered projects are properly documented to ensure proper funding.
  • Discuss and interpret the Construction Manual, Standard Specifications and contract documents.
  • Assist in developing and conducting training.
  • Coordinate, collect, and report Veterans, Women’s, underserved/underrepresented, Small, and Federal Business participation.

Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, the following are required:

  • Highway Engineering and Construction Knowledge: Demonstrated working knowledge of highway engineering principles, construction practices, and contract administration to support compliant project delivery.
  • Contract Documents and Regulatory Compliance: Ability to interpret and apply Plans, Specifications, Construction Manual, Standard Specifications, and applicable State and Federal requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Construction Documentation and Records Management: Working knowledge of construction documentation processes, funding eligibility requirements, and engineering records management practices.
  • Contract Review and Administrative Oversight: Ability to review, monitor, and evaluate contract documentation and administrative processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness.
  • Compliance Risk Identification and Process Improvement: Ability to identify compliance risks, resolve documentation issues, and recommend or implement process improvements.
  • Technical Analysis and Decision-Making: Ability to analyze complex technical and regulatory issues, exercise sound judgment, and make defensible decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Technical Communication: Ability to clearly communicate technical requirements and regulatory expectations to engineers, inspectors, and administrative staff.
  • Workload Management and Coordination: Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate reviews and meetings, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Audit and Public Disclosure Response: Ability to maintain accurate records and respond appropriately to audits and public disclosure requests.
  • Vehicle Operation: A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate state-owned vehicles.
  • Customer Focus and Service Orientation: Takes action to meet the needs of others and provide responsive service.

It is preferred that qualified candidates also have:

  • Guidance, Training, and Technical Assistance: Experience providing guidance, training, or technical assistance to promote consistent application of standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Leadership and Subject-Matter Expertise: Experience serving in a lead or subject-matter expert role influencing compliance, quality assurance, or program delivery outcomes.
