Full Job Description
This employee will be responsible for assisting in habitat development work within Unit 4-C (Donnelley, Botany Bay and Edisto River WMA).
Job Duties Include:
- Assisting with habitat management activities including agricultural plantings, prescribed burning and mowing.
- Assisting with the implementation of public hunting on public hunting lands.
- Providing assistance to WMA hunt participants and collecting necessary biological data as directed.
- Assisting with construction and installation of water control structures, bulkheads, grade stabilization structures, etc.
- Assisting with wetland habitat management activities such as burning and water level management.
- Performing maintenance on grounds including mowing dikes, grounds, roads and open areas.
- Preparing and maintaining records and reports as required.
- Performing maintenance of physical structures including painting and minor repairs to gates, buildings and other structures as needed.
- Assisting with construction and maintenance of signage for Unit 4-C.
- Maintaining department issued equipment.
- Assisting with the collection of data including dove banding, waterfowl banding, and surveys.
