Job Description

Summary

This job involves driving various government vehicles, from sedans and vans to large buses and trucks up to 32,000 pounds, while transporting people, cargo, and equipment safely around San Diego for the U.S.

Marine Corps. You'll also handle loading and unloading, basic vehicle maintenance, and paperwork like trip logs.

  • You will operate gasoline or diesel motor vehicle(s) with standard or automatic transmission, ranging in size from sedan to 52 passenger buses with up to 30,000 gross vehicle weight.
  • You will transport personnel, load/unload passengers, baggage, and cargo or direct/assist laborers with this task.
  • You will responsible for proper loading, securing safety and transit of personnel and cargo such as food, material, equipment and furniture.
  • You will accomplish operators' maintenance and maintain trip tickets.
  • You will check materials loaded or delivered for accuracy.
  • You will occasionally operate scooters, sedans, vans, pickups, 10-20 passenger vehicles, and trucks up to 5 ton.
  • You will complete and turn in trip tickets accurately into dispatching a the completion of each driving assignment.
  • This position requires moderate physical effort in handling objects weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally handling object weighting over 50 pounds.
