The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo.

This position is located in Smithsonian Institution's Office of Facilities Management (FM), Office of Facilities Management and Reliability (OFMR).

The Office of Facilities Management and Reliability provides the full range of building services through eight maintenance and operational zones.

Major Duties:

The Motor Vehicle Operator is responsible for the operation, of gasoline, diesel, and electric powered wheeled vehicles to haul cargo and fuel, transport passengers, or to tow or recover equipment.

In this position, you will: Operate passenger buses with a capacity of more than 20 passengers. Operate vehicles on roads and streets through all kinds of traffic and over rough terrain.

Operate various types of motor vehicles, ranging from buses of considerable size to different types of large and heavy trucks with trailer or semi-trailer.

Select the most appropriate routes to follow to ensure safe and timely arrival at assigned destinations.
