To meet the screen out element applicants should document experience where they are able to perform common Motor Vehicle Operator tasks to include operating gasoline powered vehicles such as a van or car in order to transport passengers; and performing maintenance on vehicles.

Truck driving requires moderate physical effort in the frequent handling of heavier objects weighing up to 70 pounds, while loading cargo with the assistance of other workers or weight handling equipment.

Considerable physical effort may be required to change tires, and to make limited emergency repairs.

There is some physical effort used when loading or unloading the vehicle, walking, reaching, bending and turning when performing driver's maintenance to vehicle.

Working Conditions: Incumbent operates either from an office or from the vehicle in an enclosed cab, but drives in all types of traffic and weather conditions and is exposed to the possibility of serious accidents.

Drives on steep winding grades. Drives in heavy traffic and at highway speeds over complicated road and interchange systems.

Operator is subject to cuts, bruises, and broken bones or worse as a result of accidents while driving. Major Duties:

  • Provide transportation services within a healthcare environment.
  • Operate a shuttle van to safely transport patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Manage the storage, loading and unloading, and security of materials and equipment.
  • Perform emergency repairs on one or more types of automotive vehicles.
  • Provides customer assistance to any visitors and answers phones when not involved in linen duties
  • Receives linen for cleaning, storage and/or issue from commercial laundry vendors and outlying clinics.
  • Stores clean linen on linen shelves or other designated areas
  • Accurately count and identify linen to fulfill linen orders.
  • Accurately complete linen inventories by identifying and counting linen items.
