About the Job:
This position oversees the day-to-day activities of the Mortgage Servicing Division of SC Housing, including Single and Multi-Family Programs. In this role, you will build and maintain collaborative relationships with senior level directors and will advise the Executive Director of any program issues and provide solutions.

Your duties will include:

Overseeing activities of the Collections and Foreclosure area of the Mortgage Servicing department.

Providing oversight of staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks and compliance with regulations and internal operating procedures.

Ensuring the Collections and Foreclosure area operates within mortgage insurer guidelines as well as internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Addressing deficiencies noted in monthly Quality Control Review to initiate corrective action as applicable and ensure procedures are updated accordingly.

Overseeing and leading the activities of the Cashiering/New Loan Boarding and REO areas of the Mortgage Servicing department.

Overseeing the activities of staff to ensure timely completion of new loan boarding and compliance with state and federal regulations, private mortgage insurers and SC Housing procedures.

Addressing deficiencies noted in monthly Quality Control Review to initiate corrective action as applicable. Managing REO staff to ensure the Authority's interest is protected at all times.

Overseeing strategies utilized in the management and marketing of REO properties in an effort to timely dispose of the inventory while maximizing the Authority's return on it's investment.

Overseeing and leading the activities of the Escrow area of the Mortgage Servicing department.

Providing oversight in the activities of staff to ensure timely completion and compliance with regulations and SC Housing established procedures.

Ensuring the annual and semi-annual escrow analysis is completed within the required time frame. Continuously seeking out opportunities to improve and streamline processes.

Addressing deficiencies noted in monthly Quality Control Review to initiate corrective action as applicable and ensuring procedures are updated accordingly.

Working collaboratively with the Finance and Mortgage Production department to ensure success within the Single Family unit.

Sharing resources and institutional knowledge in an effort to achieve the Authority's operational goals.

Assisting with strategies to ensure state, federal and program compliance is met within all functional areas. Upholding SC Housing’s policies and standards, and state and federal laws and regulations.

Promoting teamwork within the agency to effectively reach our goals and mission.

Looking for opportunities to enhance desktop tools, training and customer service in an effort to improve performance within the overall Servicing solution.

Consistently reviewing and analyzing SC Housing's portfolio to ensure that actions are performed properly and in accordance with state and federal regulations, insurer guidelines and internal procedures.

Completing requests from internal and external customers. Responding to legislative, regulatory and public inquiries.

Providing oversight and being responsible for the timely development and maintenance of the following reports to include supporting documentation: Performance reports for Mortgage Servicing.

Directing and leading the overall management and operations of the Mortgage Servicing Department. Empowering employees to take ownership for actions and decisions within the scope of their position.

Properly managing all EPMS functions. Fostering a positive work environment that promotes continuous communication.

Supporting a positive employment process that clearly identifies the best qualified applicant.

Requirements

Agency Minimum Qualifications*:
A bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field and seven (7) years of full-time experience in housing finance, banking, real estate and/or other housing related field with a minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience.
*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted to meet the agency’s minimum requirements. (i.e. 1 year of education = 1 year of related experience)

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and process time sensitive materials in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to write letters and other business-related correspondence that are professional in appearance and content.
  • Have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to program requirements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department staff, coworkers, and external customers.
  • Current, relevant Knowledge of personal computers, Windows operating system, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Ability to maintain organized, accurate, and updated files.
Must be able to lift and carry files, books and reports weighing up to 20 lbs. Must be able to perform filing, desk work and operate general office equipment. Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged or intermittent periods of time while sharing, gathering or presenting information to other staff members or external parties.
