Job Description

Summary

This role involves supporting the operations of U.S.

Customs and Border Protection by managing programs, budgets, logistics, and information systems to keep everything running smoothly at local and national levels.

It requires analyzing administrative processes to suggest improvements and preparing reports for leaders.

Key Requirements

Full Job Description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, Office of Chief Counsel, Enforcement and Operations, 1 vacancy located in Glynco, GA.

Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Experience GS-13: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Planning and executing program management functions at both local and national levels, including budget formulation, logistics, procurement, payroll, records management, and information governance.

Applying a wide range of analytical and evaluative methods to assess and improve the effectiveness of administrative operations, making recommendations for process improvements.

Implementing and monitoring a variety of management information systems and databases (e.g.

SharePoint, travel systems, financial systems) to ensure adherence to organizational plans, goals, and policies.

Drafting formal correspondence and reports for executive leadership to provide guidance on a variety of technical processes, ensuring clarity and completeness.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity.

This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10).

This is a senior-level administrative position involving a combination of confidential and sensitive program assignments performed on behalf of the Office of Chief Counsel.

Typical work assignments include but are not limited to the following: Performing administrative and management services essential to office operations such as consolidating and sharing information, coordinating projects and programs and setting deadlines, and protecting privileged and sensitive information; Providing advisory and technical services on substantive organizational functions and work practices; Participating and making recommendations to senior management regarding programs, projects, and activities in assigned areas; Analyzing interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative and business operations processes; and Developing new or modified administrative program work methods, approaches, or procedures for delivering effective services to include: detailed plans, goals, and objectives for long-range implementation and administration, and/or develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the organization's processes.
